Please read the following important information
As a long time entrepreneur, the one thing I have learned is that entrepreneurship is extremely difficult, and challenging. As such, please note that this course will demand a great deal from you, in terms of time, work, and effort.
This is not your typical "intro course". Trust me, there is a lot of work, and if you are not up to doing a considerable amount of work at a fast pace, you should consider withdrawing from the course before you fall behind. This course is designed to get you to learn about entrepreneurship by being an entrepreneur, not reading about it and defining terms and concepts. This is an applied experiential course, and you will be expected to go out into the field and complete some very challenging assignments.
The last thing I want to do is to set you up for failure. In fact, I know that while you may not like me very much while taking the course because of the work demands, you will be thankful later on for all of the valuable life lessons that you will absorb. My promise to you is that if you are willing and prepared to take this journey with me, you will learn a great deal, not just about entrepreneurship and starting businesses, but also about facing the many life challenges we all face.
Entrepreneurship is a mindset above all else. Learning to think and operate like an entrepreneur has many advantages. Even if you never start a business, you will learn critical skills that are being demanded of employees today. You will gain a competitive advantage by taking this course. I teach it in such a way as to alert you to the challenges that entrepreneurs face, and how to overcome those barriers. if you think the workload in this course is hard, imagine how difficult the life of a practicing entrepreneur must be. I take entrepreneurship seriously. There are other sections of this course, taught by other faculty, in a more traditional (read a chapter, take a quiz) mode, so you have options if you prefer learning that way. However, if you really want to immerse yourself in the field of entrepreneurship, have fun, and challenge yourself, then this is the course for you.
